Golden Bear to get Congressional Medal of Honor

72 year old Jack Nicklaus, the Golden Bear, is to be deservedly awarded the United States Congressional Medal of Honor.

The Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation has raised more than US$12 million for pediatric health care projects, and Jack  was honoured for both his golf and humanitarian work.US Senate members will now vote upon the measure in order for his nicknamed, The ‘Golden Bear’, to receive the Gold Medal. Best wishes to Jack and his Health Care Foundation, keep up the good work.

Arnold Palmer, aged 82 and one of Jack’s friends and a fellow US golf icon was awarded the Honor in 2009.

Just recently at the Masters, Jack and Arnold along with Gary Player got together and announced that the way to control the distance off the tee could be resolved by simple and cost effective measures to curb ball technology. A point that seemed to go over the heads of the authorities.
