This is the second time Bill has won this trophy, he previously won the competition in  2010, for his first PGA TOUR victory. He carded a final round -5 under par 67 on the Palmer course to post a -22 under par tournament total. He is still bothered by the ongoing wrist injury;

“It’s definitely a concern, just because anytime your body doesn’t feel great, you don’t know what’s going on.”

“It doesn’t hurt that bad to hit, but I do think I favor it.”

“I’m just trying to let it get healthy enough to where I can be more aggressive through the ball, whether or not it hurts or not, I think my body is compensating for it a little bit, subconsciously.”

“Hopefully it’s something that will heal itself.”

“I think of myself as more of a painter and not a mechanic. I don’t have the perfect swing,  I wish I could swing like Adam Scott, but I just don’t have that ability.”

“I do think I have the ability to make do with what I have.”

“If I can only win one a year for the rest of my career, I would be completely happy.”

“Maybe that’s just it; maybe I’m easily satisfied. But if I could play until I’m 50, that’s the ultimate. I hope I am built for the long haul.”

“If you would have told me I would have done this last week, I would have laughed at you.”

“I came out here and worked hard, so I was doing my best to be sharp, but to start the week and then on Sunday somewhat execute down the stretch is a great feeling.”

There were five players tied for second place, Brendon Steele, Sung Joon Park, Steve Wheatcroft, Matt Kuchar and Charlie Hoffman, all at -21 under par, one shot off the pace.

Charlie and Brendon both had rounds of -8 under par 64, but the lowest final round went to Colt Knost, with a -9 under par 63. Colt finished tied for 10th place at -19 under par.

Matt was disappointed that he did make birdie on the last, to some pressure on Bill;

“The regret is not getting up-and-down from pin high on 18, that was a tough one.”

Brendon played junior golf in the Coachella Valley, carrying his bag in the desert’s 100-degree summer temperatures, he joked about the seriousness of that competition;

“A little less glamorous than this tournament.”

“You always want to play well, whether it is your home tournament or in Timbuktu, but definitely this one because I grew up coming here.”

“I have a lot of friends and family here.”

This is the third consecutive year that Charlie has shot -21 under par total at the Humana Challenge. He’s finished in the top 10 all three times;

“Improving on Sunday has been a goal of mine, getting in position the first three rounds, and Sunday is a day to improve. And I did that today, which I’m happy about.”
