Matt Kuchar wins the Fiji International in the wild weather conditions at Natadola Bay Golf Championship Golf Course on the Island.
After Day 2 Matt had this to say about putting in strong winds here;
“Two putting is a real feat just to get off the green with a two putt, regardless if your putting for birdie, par or whatever it is.”
“Even if it’s 10 feet, you are hoping not to get a gust, you are hoping to stay steady over the ball.”
“To think that I had six birdies is quite amazing today.”
Matt carded a final round -3 under par 69 for a Fiji International tournament total of -4 under par. H e was the only player in the field to finish under par, in the very windy conditions.
Aussie Aron Price was in second place, he finished at even par for the four rounds of the Natadola Bay Golf Championship Golf Course.
Third place was shared by local player VJ Singh, and two more Aussies in Ryan Fox and Nick Cullen, all at +1 for the tournament. Ryan was -5 under 67 in the last round with Nick carding -4 under 68.
VJ had magical last round of -7 under par 65, shame about the 78, 75 and 71 that preceded it.
