Matt was very happy with his teams -14 under par scramble round, having a partner eases the pressure;

“Having a partner lets you be a little bit more aggressive, lets you be a little more free-swinging.”

 “We’ve just formed a good partnership and get in a pretty good groove out there.”

Harris was happy to have Matt as a back up, in case he missed a putt or something;

“Having Kooch as a backup guy is pretty good.”

“I know if I mess up or I miss a putt, I wouldn’t want anybody else hitting a shot or putting behind me.”

Sharing second place, just one shot back were Team  Billy Horschel/Hunter Mahan and Team Graeme McDowell/Gary Woodland, both at -13 under par carding rounds of 59.

Billy certainly enjoyed his day out on the course;

“I think we’re going to come in here with some pretty big smiles on our face.”

The first Round, is a Scramble – Each player hits a drive on every hole and the best drive is selected. Each player then plays a second shot from the spot where the selected drive lays, and the best second shot is selected. This process is repeated until the hole is completed.

Second Round a Modified Alternate Shot – Each player hits a drive on every hole and one drive is selected. The player whose drive is not selected hits the second shot, and they alternate shots until the ball is holed.

With the Final Round being a Better Ball – Each player plays through every hole using his own ball. The player whose score is the lowest on each hole will be the team score for that hole.
