Daniel Berger & Charley Hoffman now lead the Franklin Templeton Shootout at the end of day 2 on the Tiburón Golf Club at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples.
Daniel and Charlie shot -8 under par 64 in the second round of the Franklin Templeton Shootout, playing Modified Alternate Shot, for a -20 under par total.
Charlie said it could have been better, putting was not good today;
“We played good. Daniel hit a bunch of good shots off the tee.”
“One of those rounds looking back, we left a ton out there which is nice looking into tomorrow and knowing that we have some good momentum going in.”
“We hit a bunch of good shots. Didn’t convert on some of the short putts but I think tomorrow we’ll have a few more putts go in.”
“Even look forward to tomorrow and making more birdies. I’m excited to play tomorrow because I know we’re playing good golf and I can’t wait to make a bunch of birdies.”
Daniel was happy to be having some fun out there;
“I think we’ve got a nice rhythm going. I’m teeing off first on every hole.”
“Yeah, we’re just having fun. It’s very competitive, obviously we all want to win, but we just go in there with some low expectations and just keep doing what we’ve been doing and I’m sure it’ll be fun.”
Sharing second place, just one shot back at -19 under par are yesterdays leaders Matt and Harris, -5 under 67 today, with Team Jason Dufner and Brandt Snedeker, who equaled the best score of -8 under 64.
Billy Horschel and Hunter Mahan carded -4 under 68, for a -17 under par tournament total.
The real fun starts tomorrow with the final round, where each player plays through every hole using his own ball. The player whose score is the lowest on each hole will be the team score for that hole.
