Omega Dubai Ladies Masters. Shanshan Wins, for Record Third Time

Shanshan Feng wins the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters title for a record third time in Dubai. The trophy was presented by the patron of the tournament  HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein. She is in the picture below with Shanshan and her husband HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Shanshan carded a bogey free final round -6 under par 66 at the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters, to post a -21 under tournament total, giving her an amazing twelve shot victory, and equal her own low scoring record for the tournament, along with her third victory here;

“I am really delighted to win in Dubai, which is a lucky place for me.”

“Coming to this tournament my goal was a top-five finish and I’m delighted to exceed my expectations.”

“Dubai has been really good me, a lucky place, indeed.”

“It wasn’t easy out there in the windy conditions, but I kept my composure and got the job done in the end.”

Winning the Omega Dubai Ladies Masters was the icing on the cake for Shanshan, who now becomes the first player from China to win the Ladies European Tour’s Order of Merit, with Melissa Reid finishing in second place.

Thidapa Suwannapura finished those twelve shots back in second place, a last round +1 over par 73 gave her a -9 under par total.

Third place went to Melissa Reid, her final round of -3 under par for a total of -8 under in the competition.

Mohamed Juma Buamaim, vice chairman and CEO of golf in Dubai spoke about the tournaments support for Pink Friday;

“In line with Dubai’s commitment to encourage women to take to sporting activities for healthy living, we organised “pink day’ on Friday to raise awareness about breast cancer and support initiatives of Al Jalila Foundation Research Centre.”

“I would to thank all players for their enthusiastic support to the noble cause.”
