Play was suspended in the 4th round of the Singapore Open at Sentosa Golf Club, with Younghan Song at the top of the leaderboard.
With five of the top players on the leaderboard, including Jordan Spieth, still to finish their last rounds, the final result is still in the balance.
Younghan has three holes left to play, and at -12 under par for the tournament the victory is almost in his grasp.
He currently has a two shot lead over Liang Wen-chong, who has completed all four rounds, and world number one Jordan Spieth, who just has one hole left, both of these players on -10 under.
Jordan was suffering from a poor putting performance.
Liang Wen-chong also reported that his putting let him down;
“I three-putted on 12 and that was a very costly bogey.”
“But I also missed several makeable birdie opportunities and I’m regretting it now.”
“But overall, a 10-under score is still very respectable especially on this golf course. I’ve played well at this course on numerous occasions.”
“Although I’ve yet to win here, it’s still a course that suits my game and hopefully I can get the job done the next time.”
“This is a very important year especially with the Olympics coming up and every mainland Chinese player is working hard so that they can make it to Rio and represent China.”
I must say that with the Zika epidemic sweeping through Brasil, I would not be too keen to qualify for the Olympics there.
