Charley Hoffman is the darling of the Lone Star State winning the Valero Texas Open at TPC San Antonio.
Charley carded a final round -3 under par 69 to post a Valero Texas Open total of -12 under par. As he drained the birdie putt on the last hole Charley’s first words were;
“It’s about time.”
In interview, right after the winning putt, with Dotty Pepper, Charley explained his remark;
“Being in contention every Sunday and not closing the door, it’s just not me.”
“It’s nice to make that putt, that’s for sure.”
He was pushed hard all the way by Patrick Reed, who also shot a last round -3 under par 69 for his second placed total of -11 under par.
Chad Collins captured third place with a final hole birdie, he too posted -3 under 69 last round, giving him a -10 under par total.
