Jeunghun Wang, from South Korea, wins the Trophée Hassan II, in a play-off, his maiden European Tour victory.
Jeunghun Wang, -2 under 70 today, and Nacho Elvira -3 under 69, were tied at -5 under par after 72 holes on the Blue Course at Royal Golf Dar Es Salam in Morocco. The play-off hole was the par five 18th, which Jeunghun birdied twice to win.
It was so close to being a double victory for Spain as Nuria Iturrios won the Ladies title over on the Red Course.
Jeunghun was really excited by his victory, coming from three amazing putts. one to get into the play-off and then two birdies to win;
“I’m so excited right now. I think I can’t sleep tonight.”
“I don’t remember how did I putt on the last three holes.”
“I just tried to make birdie – I didn’t think about anything, I just putted.”
“It’s so exciting right now.”
Tied in third place were Robert Rock -2 under par 70 today and Clément Berardo, +1 over par 73, both with -4 under par totals.
Overnight leader Chris Hanson finished with a poor +3 over 75, and Nino Bertasio, -2 under 70 today were tied in fifth position at -3 under par.
