Joost, Scott and Y.E. all recorded -7 under par 65 in the first round of the BMW PGA Championship, to lead the field by one shot.

Joost is in good form, having had eight top 15 finishes in eleven starts this season, he got on the par five last hole in two, and the resulting birdie got him up to share the top spot with Scott and Y.E.

Y.E. famously made history in the 2009 US PGA Championship becoming the first player ever to come from behind to beat Tiger Woods, in the final round of a Major.

Scott missed the cut on his debut here last year, and the Australian came with a different approach to the competition this year;

“I tried aggressive last year and it really doesn’t work.”

“So I thought I’d just be a little bit cautious off the tee and a bit more aggressive into the greens.”

“We’ll see how that plays out during the week.”

“There’s a long three more days to go but I’m comfortable wherever I’m playing, whether I’m running last or whether I’m running first.”

“Just put one foot in front of the other and keep going.”

Masters Tournament champion Danny Willett is alone in fourth place, after his bogey free -6 under par 66.

Richard Green, Robert Rock and Jaco van Zyl are back in the clubhouse with rounds of -5 under par 67, sharing fifth position.
