Jim Furyk shoots an amazing historic 58 at TPC River Lands.
A very happy, record breaking Jim Furyk / getty
Jim set a PGA TOUR low round record carding a 58 in the final round of the Travelers Championship, he said making history was a phenomenal event, dreams do come true;
“There’s a lot of rounds by a lot of great players ahead of me that have never reached 58, so to hold that record alone right now, on the PGA TOUR at least, is phenomenal.”
“To have a little, small place in history is something you dream of.”
“I’m still a little stunned and a little flabbergasted.”
“In this game you catch a little tip here, a little tip there, and you make a few good swings, and that momentum can switch pretty quickly.”
“It doesn’t ever feel like it, but when it happens, it’s a lot of fun.”
For the statisticians Jim hit all 18 greens in regulation and had a putt for birdie on every hole, except for the par four third. He didn’t need one there because he holed out for an eagle with a wedge from 135 yards.
Pete, this is incredible. I’ll bet nobody is making fun of Jimmy’s swing now!
Thanks,
Brian
