Russell shot a final round -2 under par 68 to win the Travelers Championship with a total score of -14 under par. This is Russell’s second win of the season.

Russell needed to make a 12ft putt on the last to avoid a playoff;

“I felt like the Incredible Hulk when it went in, I could have ripped my shirt off.”

“Everybody dreams of making a putt on the last hole to win a tournament.”

“I just kept telling myself, this is your chance to make a putt to have a great celebration and hear the roars. I’m glad it went in.”

One shot off the pace and claiming second place on his own at -13 under par is Jerry Kelly. Jerry carded a last round -6 under par 64, and was watching a monitor in the scorers room a Russell successfully made par from the front bunker on 18 to hold on to the title.

Jerry was really appreciative of the fans support;

“The love that they showed me this week, that’s about the best of any year.”

 “But, this is about the best I’ve played of any year too.”

Tied in third place were Patrick Rodgers -2 under par 68 today and Justin Thomas, who must have thought he would claim the lowest round of the day with his last round -8 under par 62. Both of these players finished the tournament with -12 under par totals.

Of course the low round of the day went to Jim Furyk, with his amazing record breaking -12 under par 58. Jim finished T5 in a large group at -11 under par.

Jim told reporters the round was really special

“No one else can say they’ve done that out here on the PGA Tour.”

 “It’s really special.”

Leader by three shots at the start of the last round Daniel Berger, had a nightmare day +4 over par 74. He joined Jim in the tie for fifth place at -11 under par, what would he have given for Jim’s round today.
