Ryan took control of the John Deere Classic with third round -6 under par 65 for a tournament total of -18 under par. He had endured a long day, completing two rounds, both at -6 under;
“It was a long day, it was a lot of golf holes I played today, so to play that solid all day long, I’m very encouraged about it.”
“I think that was 34 holes I played today..”
“It will be nice to get to sleep a little bit tomorrow and be well-rested and just ready to get after it again tomorrow.”
Both Morgan Hoffman and Ben Martin shot -9 under 62, to pull within a stroke of the leader at -17 under par.
Morgan carded six birdies in row, from the 11th through to 16th, and said it was very dark when they finished, but the putts were going in;
“It is really dark, and the last few greens are getting really soft and bumpy too, so it was hard to read.”
“I guess they’re running in right now.”
Ben was also having success with his putting;
“It was one of those days where all the putts were going in.”
“It would have been nice to get the first five and the last five, but strong start, strong finish.”
After some horrendous rain delays the tournament is now back on schedule, and with so many players in contention tomorrow will be a very exciting finish to this wet and soggy competition.
