Alex Levy, from France, leads the Italian Open after the completion of 36 holes at very wet Golf Club Milano. The third round is now suspended due to darkness and weather delays.
Alex carded -7 under through 14 holes of the third round, before play was suspended due to darkness, to post -14 under par at the top of the Italian Open, leaderboard;
“It’s not finished but I started well, it was really good to play like that today.”
“I played well the first two days but I started really strongly today.”
“A good start, nice eagle on the first, nice birdie on the second and I kept going like that all day really. I’m really happy with the way I’ve played golf the last three weeks.”
“I was injured for three or four months and to come back like that is really nice.
“I don’t know what will happen tomorrow but it’s just nice to be playing some really good golf again.”
Second place is shared by four players, all at -13 under par.
Local favorite Francesco Molinari, -4 under in ten third round holes. Chris Paisley, even par through 9, Chris Hanson, -2 under through 9, and Danny Willett, -1 under after 8 holes.
It is all to play for tomorrow, should be an exciting finish to this wet and soggy competition.
