Thorbjørn Olesen, from Denmark is in charge of the Turkish Airlines Open, after setting a new course record at Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort and will take a six shot lead at the half-way stage.
Thorbjørn set a new course record of -9 under par 62 at the Turkish Airlines Open giving him a commanding lead over the field after 36 holes, with a -15 under par tournament total;
“I feel like I’ve been up in contention in a lot of big events, I feel pretty comfortable. “
“There’s still 36 holes to go, so that’s a lot of golf to be played, but I have to keep being aggressive out there. That’s the only way I can win.”
“A lot of things can happen on this course. You have quite a lot of water on it and you can get in some trouble.”
“There’s a lot of birdie and eagle chances out there so anything can happen. I have to keep being aggressive out there, keep going after some of the pins and still be aggressive on the greens as well.”
A long way back in second place are Adrian Otaegui, Spain, -8 under 63 today and Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee -5 under 66, both with -9 under par totals.
