Carlota likes this course, no bogey’s today a testament to that;
“I really like this course, I played good last year so it is great to be back.”
“We really like everything here in Mexico, the people are very welcoming and the way they treat us is phenomenal.”
“I played pretty solid today, no bogey’s, 5 birdies, I hit it pretty close and I am just looking forward to keep it going.”
Sarah carded two bogey’s today, but made a good putt for birdie at the last;
“The last was pretty important to me. I was sitting in between clubs and I wanted to hit the full shot, and my husband who caddies for me was ‘just hit the little one’, and I hit the little one and I was like maybe I should’ve hit the full one.”
” It was kind of one of those things where you play smart, and I was able to put the putt in for birdie so it was good finish. It ended on a high note.”
There is then a three-way tie for third place at -3 under par, with Karine Icher, Chella Choi, and Maria Fassi two shots back after their opening rounds of 69.
Michelle Wie, Su Oh and Mariajo Uribe are T6, all at -2 under par for the tournament.
