There are nine players tied at the top pf the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters leaderboard after 36 holes at the Doha Golf Club,, and that’s a Tour record.
Bradley Dredge, Wales, yesterdays first round leader has been joined at the top of the Qatar Masters leaderboard by South Africans Thomas Aiken and Jaco Van Zyl, Kiradech Aphibarnrat, Thailand , two from Spain, Jorge Campillo and Nacho Elvira, Mikko Korhonen, Finland, Andy Sullivan, England and Jeunghun Wang from South Korea, all at -8 under par for the tournament.
Bradley said he struggled in the wind for his even par round of 72;
“It was pretty benign, pretty calm but the wind got up and certainly made things a bit more difficult.”
“We were chatting about the wind yesterday and I just didn’t play great.”
“It was grinding level pars so, at the end of the day, you can only do your best. I’ll just try and improve on what I’m doing and try and get my eye in on the greens like I did the first day and hopefully get myself in contention on the back nine.”
Best round of the day went to Jordan Smith, -6 under 66, which moved him up into the seven way tie for tenth place at -7 under par.
It will be an interesting weekend, to see who goes low and breaks away from the madding crowd.
