Adam Hadwin wins the Valspar Championship, his maiden PGA Tour win, at Copperhead golf course in Florida.
Adam, from Canada, shot a final round even par 71 to win the Valspar Championship with a -14 under par tournament total;
“I just wanted a chance to win coming up the last, and I had that chance.”
“I don’t know what to say right now, honestly. I fully expected Patrick to make that putt (on 18) “
“I said yesterday I wanted a chance to win coming up the last. I had that chance and I thought we were going to have to make birdies to win it.”
“I’m just lucky that one-footer was not one-and-a-half feet, that’s all I know.”
Patrick Cantlay was second, just one shot back at -13 under par following his final round -3 under par 68. Coming back from a long injury lay-off Patrick was not too happy with second place;
“It doesn’t really feel like much consolation at the moment.”
“I didn’t finish the deal.”
Tied in third spot were Jim Herman, -3 under 68 today, and Dominic Bozzelli, -4 under 67, they both finished with -12 under par totals.
