Officially Lydia Ko, from New Zealand, is still the Womens Number One ranked player in the world, she has now been #1 for 85 consecutive weeks.
Remember how Ian Poulter was told he had lost his PGA Tour card, and then the authorities came back and apologized, saying a recalculation had been made and Ian had kept his playing privileges for 2017, by 0.01 of a point.
Well the same thing has happened to Lydia, she is still Ladies World Number 1, by just the same margin, 0.01 of a point. Seems that the projections tool mistakenly included the 2015 Manulife LPGA Classic as part of the calculations. Amazing how it has taken so long to correct a mistake that was made in 2015.
Lydia now has 8.37 points and Ariya Jutanugarn, Thailand, is in second place with 8.36.
Makes you wonder how the people in these organisations who calculate these rankings actually keep their jobs.
Not a good look for Rolex
