Lucas breezed to his Maiden win at the Portugal Masters with a final round -6 under 65 to post a winning score of -20 under par, a four shot victory;

“I’ve been in this position a couple of times before so to finally come through and get my first win feels really good.”

Today is up there with one of my best rounds.”

“Not so much the six under around here, I’ve done that before, but under the pressure some of the shots I hit.”

“The two shots I hit on 17 are some of the best I’ve hit in a long time.”

“I felt like it was my time to go out and grab it and not wait for someone to hand it to me.”

Marc Warren from Scotland claimed second place at -16 under par, with a last round of -4 under 67.

Eddie Pepperell, England, -4 under par 67 today and Graeme Storm, -3 under 68, also from England shared third place, another shot back at -15 under par.

Best placed local players were tied in fifth place at -14 under par; Ricardo Gouveia, -6 under par 65 today, and José-Felipe, -4 under 67.

Ricardo suddenly started to putt really well;

“It was an amazing day for me, in front of home crowds as well. On the last day, on a Sunday, it was really, really nice.”

“I played a lot better today. I knew I had good chances, good opportunities on the back nine. I just stayed patient.”

“I rolled a good putt on 11, a good putt on 12, and all of the sudden, I started believing that I could get close to the leaders.”

“Overall, I’m really happy with the week.”
