Marc carded a first round -10 under par 61 to lead the AT&T Byron Nelson by three shots and obviously likes the new course, especially with a hot putter;
” When I got here and saw instantly, you know, was happy that we’re here and it’s just a cool spot.”
“It was certainly one of the best driving days I’ve had, I hit everything, every fairway, and that’s important around here.”
“The fairways are generous, but you still have to hit them.”
“My iron play was great and then didn’t feel like I was having to hit too many chip shots.”
The putter was hot, so that combination is a nice way to start the tournament and shoot a low round.”
Sharing second place at -7 under par are J.J. Spaun and Jimmy Walker.
Jimmy is happy to be feeling fine once again;
“It’s a huge factor. I feel good.”
“It’s a hard enough game as it is. You don’t want to feel bad when you’re out playing golf, or feel sick or injured or weak. And that’s just kind of how I was.”
“Last week was great. A big week for me, especially with what’s been going on.”
“I feel a lot better now. Golf game seems like it’s coming back. Last week was huge, a big week. Lots of smiles.”
