Beau, -4 under 66 today, Ryan, -5 under 65 and Brian, -6 under par 64, are all tied at the top of the Quicken Loans National leaderboard after 36 holes with -9 under par totals.
Beau is feeling good, and is rolling it well with the putter;
“I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing, I feel good.
“I mean, the course is scoreable. I doubt that nine under will be leading.”
“Like I said, the course is in perfect shape so you could get it rolling with the putter, and with how hot it is, it’s not playing particularly long.”
“I’ve had a lot of really good rounds. Unfortunately, I’ve had some kind of high ones that are uncharacteristic for me.”
“I think that was six in a row in the 60s, so I’m feeling good. I’m getting it in play nicely off the tee and I’m rolling the putter really well, so that obviously helps.”
“I would expect to be in contention heading into the weekend and I look forward to it.”
Tied in fourth place at -8 are Francesco Molinari, Italy, -5 under 65 today, and Billy Horschell with his second round -2 under 68.
Billy wants two more rounds in the sixties;
“We’re going to try to put two more rounds in the sixties, see where it puts us for Sunday.”
Making some progress today were two of the big guns, Tiger Woods, -5 under 65, and Rickie Fowler, -4 under 66. Will be interesting to see if their upward progress continues on moving day tomorrow.
Tiger is ready for the challenge, including the excessive heat;
“I’m not that far back, the scores aren’t going to be that low and it’s going to be a tough weekend.”
“It will be over 100 degrees and it will be a long weekend mentally and physically. I’m in a good position now.”
