Webb carded -9 under 61 to lead A Military Tribute at The Greenbrier by just one shot, but he was thinking of a 59;
“I knew a 59 was in there, but it’s all right.”
“Great start. Scores were good though, so you’ve got to keep the pedal down.”
“Momentum is a funny thing, but I should feel good when I got back out there.”
Whee Kim from South Korea is in second place at -8 under after his opening round of 62.
Teenager Joaquin Niemann of Chile has third place after his first round -7 under 63 happy with his game and his putter;
“I’m one of the youngest out here so I feel like I’ve got nothing to lose.”
“My game was feeling really good and my putter was good. So all my game was good today.”
“It’s really nice, after I thought I was going to be in college this year.”
“These guys are really good. I know they’re going to go really low today or tomorrow. I mean, all week.”
“So you know, just keep the same strategy and go low for tomorrow also.”
