Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. Play-Off Win for Russell Knox.

It was a play-off win for Russell Knox of Scotland at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open beating Ryan Fox of New Zealand at the first extra hole at  Ballyliffin Golf Club in Ireland.

Russell, -6 under 66 for his final round and Ryan -4 under 68 finished the  Dubai Duty Free Irish Open tied at the top of the leaderboard at -14 under par. Russell made birdie at the first extra hole, the par four first hole, to win the tournament with a 40ft putt;

“To make a putt like that, it’s a dream come true.”

“It’s so hard to win tournaments. The way I managed to do it, holing those two long putts, it was just my time.”

“I’m just lucky to win one of these massive events, so thank you very much to Rolex.”

Ryan spoke about his two putts that would could have won him the Trophy;

“I feel alright, I mean I holed a big one on eighteen to get into the play-off, and holed a massive one in the play-off as well.”

“I hit two great putts on eighteen, one grazed the edge, the other came back at me.”

“Just happy, feel comfortable out there, it was close.”

“Had one of those putts been an inch either way I would have been holding the trophy.”

“Well done to Russell, he played great today.”

Jorge Campillo from Spain fired a -7 under par 65, the low round of the day to claim third place with a -13 under total.
