Sei Young Kim of South Korea, wins the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic with a new history making 72 hole low scoring record of -31 under par and a nine shot winning margin.
Sei Young carded a bogey free final round -7 under par 65 to post a winning score of -31 under par to win the Thornberry Creek LPGA Classic, no one even came close;
“Just before I started the final round, I setting my goal of a bogey-free round.”
“I did today, so I’m very happy with another good round. I’m very happy. A dream come true.”
Carlota Ciganda, Spain, finished in second place those nine shots back at -22 under par, even though she carded a last round -8 under 64;
“When I came they told me that you have to shot a low score here, so I tried my best, tried to fire at all the pins and make as many putts as I could.”
“If someone plays better, just congrats and nothing I can do. It’s unbelievable the way she played.”
Tied In third position at -20 under were Anna Nordqvist, Sweden, -5 under 67 today, Emma Talley, USA, also -5 under 67 and Amy Yang, South Korea, -4 under 68 for her final round.
Emma could not believe the winning score:
“I just looked at my caddie and I was like, 30-under? That’s unbelievable.”
“If you would’ve told me that was the winning score, I would’ve been like, there’s no way someone is going to go that low.:
“She had a heck of a week and I’m really excited for her.”
