Brooke Henderson, Canada, has taken control of the Marathon Classic holding the 54 hole lead.
Brooke carded a -2 under par 69 to top the Marathon Classic leaderboard with a -11 under par total, and will take a one shot advantage into the final round tomorrow;
“I made some birdies but I made some bogeys.”
“I didn’t hit it how I normally hit it, so I kind of grinded it out as best I could, and that’s good.”
“That’s a good sign when you can still shoot under par and not hit it very well.”
“Just going into tomorrow trying to get back to the way I normally strike it, and hopefully make a lot of birdies.”
“I think this course, when you’re hitting it really well, there are a lot of birdie opportunities. When you don’t hit it so great, you’re kind of fighting for pars, and I know that.”
“Hopefully tomorrow I can go out and play a little bit better and give myself a lot of birdie looks.”
Tied in second place at -10 under par are, Angela Stanford, -6 under 65 today, and Brittany Lincicome, with -4 under 67 in her third round, both ladies from USA.
Brittany is good at getting it up and down after a mistake;
“When I do miss a few greens, it’s fun to try to get it up-and-down, because I’m sure that will happen a few times next week.”
“I feel better to be one or two back and kind of chasing, so the pressure is on somebody else and I can kind of fly under the radar a little bit.”
Jacqui Concolino, USA, has fourth place to herself at -9 under par, with a third round -2 under 69.
