Bryson DeChambeau, USA, leads the Porsche European Open at Green Eagle Golf Courses in Germany.
Bryson opened his account at the Porsche European Open with a first round -6 under 66, to lead the tournament by one shot;
“It was fun to get out there and shoot a good score on the European Tour.”
“I haven’t done that yet out here so I’m very pleased with it and ready to get after it tomorrow.”
“It’s been great this week, I love it here. The food’s fantastic, the people are great and the golf course is beautiful.”
“I was missing in the right places today. I didn’t have my best stuff.”
“I didn’t have my A-game but I was able to miss it in the proper shots and leave myself some easy shots, so when I missed the green I could get it up and down.”
“I think the course will change because of the heat and the weather and we’ll have to adapt over the next couple of days with the course.”
“If I can do that and make some good putts I’ll be right there at the end of the week.”
Sharing second spot at -5 under after rounds of 67 are, Benedict Staben, Germany, Mike Lorenzo-Vera, Joël Stalter and Romain Wattel, all from France.
Mike said he was playing and putting well;
“I was kind of expecting them to be honest, I was striking really good today so I had plenty of chances and some good putts that didn’t hole so I was happy they came at the end.”
