Brooks shot a final round -4 under par 66 to win the 100th PGA Championship with a -16 under par total, a two stroke winning margin, beating Tiger Woods into second place, and Brooks, now a three time Major champion mentioned the Tiger effect;

“First time Tiger’s been in contention and I’ve been in contention at the same time.”

“So the fans definitely let you know what he was doing.”

“When I look at what I’ve done in the past two months, it’s incredible.”

“Looking where I was, sitting on my couch watching the Masters, and to think I would do this, I would have laughed at you and told you there was no way, no chance, and to do it is really incredible.”

“I think sitting on the couch made me really appreciate how much I actually love this game and love competition.”

“I think, other than me, my team, everybody was rooting for Tiger, as they should.”

“He’s the greatest player to ever play the game and to have the comeback that he’s having is incredible.”

“I’m excited for the next few years. Tiger’s come back.”

Tiger also carded -4 under 66 in  his last round giving him a -14 under total;

“I was pretty ticked at the British Open, but I had the lead there and this one I never quite got to the lead.”

“I was always trailing, and it was a golf course on which I couldn’t sit still and make pars and be okay with it.”

“So Brooks put it all together, he didn’t just have the driving, he had the iron game, he had the putting and made some key up-and-downs the last couple rounds to keep himself in the tournament and then end up winning the tournament.”

Adam Scott, Australia, made bogey on the final hole for -3 under 67, to fall out of the tie for second, claiming third place at -13 under par;

“There were a lot of roars happening out there and it was good fun to be in it.”

“Just missed putts on 14 and 15 and Brooks made them and my momentum was gone.”

“I had high hopes for today, especially with four or five to go being tied with Brooks.”
