Amy shot a bogey free third round -6 under par 65 to take the 54 hole lead at The Evian Championship at -14 under par, and will have a two stroke advantage for the final round tomorrow;
“Patience is going to be key tomorrow, bogeys are going to happen,”
“I really enjoyed the nerves, that means I care, right?”
“It was fun to start solid with a birdie on the first hole.”
Sei Young Kim, South Korea, is two strokes back in second place at -12 under, she was also bogey free today carding -7 under 64;
“I feel great with a bogey-free round today. That was my goal and I didn’t watch the leader board.”
“The big goal is to win a major tournament. I wish I could.”
Mo Martin is in third position, signing for -2 under 69 today to post a tournament score of -10 under par.
Low round of the day went to Ryann O’Toole, USA, whose -8 under-par 63 , was also the lowest round of her career, she finished T 7 at -8 under par, after receiving some putting instruction from her player partner yesterday Jenny Shin;
“Just the best round in competition since I was 16. Since I was 16, I’ve just shot a bunch of seven unders and haven’t been able to break it.”
“Today was good. It’s funny, I can’t wait to see Jenny Shin, because we got done after 18 yesterday and after we finished the round, she looked at me and goes, You just need to keep your putter lower on the back. That’s why they’ve all been jumping. I’m like, Uh! Okay.”
“So afterwards I went and worked on it, and today I guess it just was rolling well.”
