Oliver carded a first round -6 under par 66 to lead the Alfred Dunhill Championship on one stroke at the  Leopard Creek Country Club course;

“Definitely a great afternoon on the golf course, the wind died a little bit on us so I’m glad to have been able to take advantage of that.”

“I hit it really good today. The greens are really firm but I drove it well so I was in fairway most of the time so I could control my ball. I made one or two but, all in all, I just played solid golf today.”

“I think the changes on this golf course are good for my game. I, traditionally, have not played that great over here but today I felt like it suited my game a little bit better so I’m looking forward to what this week’s got in store.”

One shot back in second place is Dimitrios Papadatos of Australia, with a bogey free opening round -5 under par 67;

“It was definitely tricky out there today, the wind was quite strong, a lot stronger than the forecast. The greens were quite firm and fast so yes, I was very happy with that round.”

“I didn’t realise I was bogey-free but I am pretty happy to keep the scorecard free of the bogeys.”

“Trying to get a bit of form and after the missed cut last week, it was nice to turn things around.”

Raphaël Jacquelin, France, has third place after his fist round -4 under 68;

“It’s my first time and it’s a good round to start, I played solidly, especially on the back nine.”

“It was not easy this morning, a lot of wind, but I managed to stay patient and to make some birdies.”

“I don’t know why I’ve never played because the place is unbelievable. I played Hong Kong, Mauritius and then I took a week off in the Kruger Park with my wife.”

“Had a bit of a rest then I play this one so it suits my schedule a bit better than the other years.”
