Brooks signed for a last round +4 over par 74, making four consecutive bogey’s on his back nine, which made the contest a little more exciting. He eventually won with a -8 under par total, a two shot winning margin. This was Brooks fourth Major title, and also makes him the first player to win both the US PGA Championship and U.S. Open back to back;

“It’s incredible, I don’t even know if I dreamed of this. This is cool. I am still in shock right now, this is awesome.”

“I’m just glad we didn’t have to play any more holes, that was a stressful round of golf.”

“The wind was up, DJ played awesome and he put the pressure on.”

“I’m glad to have this thing (the Wanamaker Trophy) back in my hands.”

Dustin Johnson claimed second place at -6 under, he actually got to only one behind when Brooks had his four hole wobble, but an errant shot on 16 flew further than he wanted to, ending his surge towards the title, finishing with a last round -1 under 69. He now has runner-up finishes in all four of the majors, the wrong kind of career Grand Slam;

“Hit the shot I wanted to right at the flag, I don’t know how it flew two hundred yards into the wind like that.”

“I gave it a run, that’s all you can ask for.”

Tied in third place with -2 under totals were; Jordan Spieth and Patrick Cantlay, both with +1 over 71 today, and Matt Wallace of England who signed for a final round +2 over 72.

Lucas Bjerregaard, Denmark, holed a six iron from 206 yards for a one bounce Hole in One on the 17th, with his playing partner Lucas Glover then making his  bunker shot for a two, it brought one of the biggest cheers from the crowd.
