Jeongeun Lee6 of South Korea carded a bogey free -10 under par 61 to lead the Evian Championship by three shots at Evian Resort Golf Club in France.

Jeongeun Lee6Lucky Lee6 equalled an all times coring record, for male or female with her round of 61, and her 36-hole score of 127 is also the lowest 36-hole total in men’s or women’s Major championship history;

“I had a lot of birdie chances, I could play easily. My putting was really, really good, so, yeah, that’s it.”

 “My swing is still not perfect, but I try to focus on one shot at a time and my backswing shape and rhythm. I didn’t dwell on the result, I focused on the process. It was so amazing.”

I try to keep it on the fairway and keep it on the green and I focused on putting speed, that’s it.”

Tied in second place at -12 under par are two ladies from Thailand; Ariya Jutanugarn, bogey free -8 under 63 today and Pajaree Anannarukarn with a second round -6 under 65.

Ariya said she was lucky with her Eagle on the par five 18th;   “

 “I’m pretty lucky to make an eagle on the last hole. I feel good right now.”

I like my commitment and feel like I got better today. Every time I’m here I feel like the course is tough, but it’s amazing. My only goal was to make the cut, I made it, so nothing can beat that.”

Pajaree was happy with her solid round;

“I played solid golf the first two days and am really happy with it.”

“I stuck to what I played the first round and it worked out today. I think playing as part of a team last week has built a lot of momentum coming into this week.”

“It’s a major week and I’m just really pleased with my game.”

Lydia Ko, New Zealand, -6 under 65 today, Yealimi Noh, USA, -3 under 68, are T4 on nine-under-par.
