Danielle Kang, USA, captures her first LPGA title, and her maiden Major victory, the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, at Olympia Fields in Chicago.

Danielle carded -3 under par 68 in her final round of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship, to claim a one shot maiden victory with a -13 under par total.
Danielle managed to throw in a three putt during the round;
“The three-putt on number ten was the turning point for me.”
“I said I’m going to learn from that and then I made four birdies in a row.”
“Having a major championship in my resume, I don’t know what it will do.”
“But I do know that having the U.S. Amateur as majors, and having a major win, it’s amazing.”
Defending Champion Brooke Henderson, from Canada, put up a great defence of her title, carding two birdies in her last two holes to put pressure on Danielle.
Brooke even had an Eagle putt on the last hole which just hung over the edge, instead of dropping, giving her a -5 under par 66 final round and -12 under par total, to claim second place on her own:
“Danielle played great, she won this I was just trying to get close and maybe force a playoff.”
“To make that putt on 17 was huge.”
“I hit two great shots on eighteen, I walked that putt twice to get the pace, but I left it an inch short.”
Chella Choi, South Korea, was in third place at -10 under for the tournament, an even par 71 in the last round was not what she was looking for.
