Sei Young Kim, South Korea, and Danielle Kang, USA, are the cream at the top of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship leaderboard after 36 holes at Olympia Fields in Chicago. The round was interrupted for a while with electrical storms in the area.

Sei Young and Danielle both posted a second rounds of -5 under par 66 to top the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship leaderboard at the half-way stage of this Major with -7 under par totals.
Sei Young said she had benefited from the calmer winds after the interval from the storms;
“Fortunately, when I tee off, it was a little less windy.”
“So I was able to play to the pin, attack the pin. So I made a lot of opportunities for the birdie chance.”
Danielle has been bogey free for her 36 holes, no mean feat in a Major competition;
“Both of those rounds, I kept my game plan, and they were both bogey-free, so I’m pretty happy.”
“I kept sticking to the iron shots that I trusted all my life, and giving myself opportunities is what we‘ve been doing.”
Four ladies are tied in third place, just one shot back with tournament totals of -6 under par, Jodi Ewart-Shadoff, England, -5 under 66 today, first round leader Chella Choi, South Korea, -1 under 70, Amy Yang, South Korea, even par 71, and Brittany Lincicome, USA, -5 under 66.
There is still a long way to go in this Major tournament, and not too far back are Major winners like, Lydia Ko, New Zealand and Michelle Wi, USA, with a -4 under totals, Brooke Henderson, Canada -5 under, and So Yeon Ryu, South Korea, also at -5 under par.
